Zimperium provides mobile security across two halves: application security with the Mobile Application Protection Suite covering application shielding, runtime protection, cryptographic key protection and security testing, and device security with mobile threat defence, phishing protection, app vetting, BYOD security and coverage for Chromebooks.

Separating the application from the device is the structural insight and it names two genuinely different customers. A bank protecting its own mobile application from tampering on a customer's phone has no control over that device at all, while an employer protecting staff phones controls the device and not the applications on it.

Application shielding matters because of that asymmetry. A banking application runs on hardware the bank cannot trust, possibly rooted, possibly instrumented by an attacker, so the application has to defend itself at runtime rather than relying on the operating system, which is a different discipline from endpoint security.

Mobile phishing protection deserves emphasis because phishing on a phone is materially harder to spot than on a desktop, with truncated URLs, no hover preview and messages arriving through SMS and messaging applications that no email gateway inspects.
