How listings are verified and ordered
Every SocialAtoZ listing records the same fields from the vendor's own published pages, and every listing passes the same checks before it goes live. This page lists those rules and explains how category pages decide which listings come first.
Where the facts come from
- Product details come from the vendor’s own site: the product page, the pricing page and other pages the vendor publishes.
- Prices come only from the vendor’s pricing page and are recorded as published, with the plan name and the billing terms where the vendor states them.
- When a vendor does not publish a price, the listing shows that the price is on request. Prices are not estimated, rounded or taken from third-party sites.
Pricing rules
- A price for an add-on is not recorded as a plan price.
- A price published for a different product from the same vendor is not used, even when it appears on the same page.
- A figure that is not a price (a spend threshold, a partner payout, a competitor’s cost quoted in a comparison) is not recorded as one.
Checks before a listing is published
- The source must be about the product. If the vendor’s page does not name the product, the listing is not published.
- The logo is checked. It must be large enough to read, belong to the product rather than to a parent company, and not already be in use on another listing. Every logo is also checked visually.
- Screenshots are captured from the vendor’s site with cookie banners and pop-ups removed. A capture that shows a security check or a blocked page is discarded.
- Videos are used only when the vendor’s own site links to them.
- Duplicates are blocked. Every new listing is compared with all existing listings by website address and by product name, including names written differently, so the same product is not listed twice.
How category pages are ordered
Category pages list the most complete records first. Each listing gets a completeness score, calculated the same way for every product:
| What the listing has | Points |
|---|---|
| A published numeric price | 3 |
| A logo | 2 |
| Screenshots | 2 |
| A product video | 2 |
| At least four answered questions | 2 |
| Eight or more features | 2 (four to seven features: 1) |
| A one-line summary | 1 |
| The vendor’s website | 1 |
| Plans | 1 |
| A description of 90 words or more | 1 |
Listings with the same score are shown newest first. Readers can also sort a category by name, by price or by free trial.
The order reflects how much a listing tells you, not a judgement of the product. A product that publishes its prices will sit above an otherwise similar one that does not, because its listing answers more of a buyer’s questions. Vendors do not pay for position.
Keeping listings current
When a vendor or a reader tells us a listing is out of date, we re-check it against the vendor’s current pages and update it when the change holds. Report a problem through the contact form or at team@socialatoz.com. The editorial policy covers how corrections, reviews and dates are handled.
