MediaShout is church presentation software positioned explicitly against subscriptions, sold as a one-time perpetual licence with an optional annual membership for support and updates. It publishes head to head comparisons against ProPresenter, EasyWorship, Proclaim and PowerPoint, offers a cost calculator, and provides the interface in English, Swedish and Ukrainian.

Perpetual licensing is the entire proposition and it addresses a genuine tension in church budgeting. Congregations plan around annual budgets set by committees, and a capital purchase that lasts is easier to approve than a recurring commitment that must be defended every year. That is a budgeting reality rather than a software preference, and most of this category has moved away from it.

The honest counterpoint is what perpetual licences always cost, which is that the software stops improving unless the membership is renewed. The vendor is straightforward about this, pricing the licence and the ongoing membership separately so a buyer sees both numbers.

Publishing direct comparisons against named competitors, including PowerPoint, is unusually candid. Many churches genuinely are running PowerPoint, and naming it treats that as the real alternative rather than pretending the choice lies only among worship products.
