Jamf Protect

Jamf Protect is endpoint security and malware protection for macOS within Jamf's Apple device management range, alongside Jamf for Mobile covering mobile threat defence, content filtering, identity and access management and Zero Trust Network Access, with education pricing published separately.

Building only for Apple is the whole strategy and it produces a real advantage in this category. A cross-platform endpoint product supports macOS as one of several targets and inevitably lags Apple's own release cycle, while a vendor with nothing else to support can be ready on the day a new macOS ships, which matters when an organisation cannot delay an operating system update.

Publishing per-device prices openly is unusual at this end of security software and it makes Jamf unusually easy to evaluate, since an organisation with 400 Macs can calculate the cost in a minute rather than entering a sales process to find out whether it is affordable.

Separate education pricing reflects where Jamf's installed base actually is, because schools deployed iPads and Macs at scale earlier than most enterprises and remain a large part of the market, with budgets that commercial pricing would exclude. Jamf Protect sits beside mobile threat defence and Zero Trust Network Access, which are priced as distinct lines.
