Viima

Viima is agile innovation software built around boards, letting teams collect, develop and evaluate ideas quickly across an organisation. Following its acquisition by HYPE Innovation it is now presented as HYPE Boards, and the Viima name no longer appears on its own site, though the product, domain and pricing remain in place.

The board metaphor is what makes this usable by people who are not running an innovation programme. A team that wants to gather and progress ideas about its own work does not need stage gates, evaluation committees or a corporate funnel, and presenting the tool as a board they configure themselves lets adoption spread outward rather than being rolled out downward.

Publishing prices is unusual in this category and it follows from that positioning. A team lead can buy this without a procurement process, which is the entire distribution model, and it is impossible if the price is behind a sales call.

The rename is worth knowing for practical reasons. Existing guides, reviews and comparisons are written under the Viima name, and current documentation and support are under HYPE Boards, so a buyer researching it will move between two names for one product. Reviews written under the old name still describe the product accurately; support articles under the old name may not.
