Quirkos is qualitative analysis software designed to immerse a researcher in their text data and help them understand it quickly, using a visual interface where themes appear as bubbles that grow as more material is coded to them.

The visual approach is a genuine methodological choice rather than decoration. Seeing at a glance which themes are carrying most of the data, and which are thin, is information that a list of codes with counts conveys much less immediately, and it changes what a researcher notices while they work.
