Scanifly is solar design and field operations software built around a distinctive premise: the expensive failures in solar happen when a design does not match the roof it is installed on. The company positions itself for quality-obsessed solar companies replacing clunky design software, with the aim of modelling PV systems that always fit on install day.

The mechanism is photorealistic 3D models built from drone-based onsite data or remote imagery. Those models become the canvas for design work, so roof layouts, fire setbacks, module type and orientation and shading analysis are all worked out against an accurate representation of the actual structure. Scanifly states that this cuts field time by 90 percent without compromising quality or accuracy.

The product covers each project stage rather than one moment. Early sales estimates are created in a design environment built for selling, with Simple Design using LiDAR, Nearmap and approved shading to simulate a project for the customer. Models and layouts are then constructed automatically using AI or handed to Scanifly Design Services. Real-time bankable shading analysis and production modelling target financing rejections directly. Final True Up designs are presented to customers for sign-off, and 3D models convert automatically into permit-ready plan sets.

Field data collection runs through a mobile app on iOS and Android, capturing structural, electrical and property data with digital checklists. Outputs export to CAD or directly to racking partners, and the platform connects field and design data to any proposal tool, financing platform or racking partner.
