PVComplete

PVComplete builds PV design software spanning residential, commercial and utility scale work, founded in 2015 by a team of solar developers and electrical engineers. Its stated mission is to make PV design tools that are easy to use, and its product structure reflects the observation that early-stage sales design and precision engineering are genuinely different jobs requiring different tools.

The range therefore splits two ways. By scale, one set of products covers rooftop, carport and ground mounted projects up to 5 MW, and another covers ground mounted medium and large scale projects above 5 MW. By purpose, each scale offers a web application and a CAD product. The web applications, PVSketch and PVSketch MEGA, are built for sales and early stage design, letting a user visualise layouts, calculate savings, generate proposals, assess sites, perform optimisations and produce layouts quickly. The CAD products, PVCAD and PVCAD MEGA, provide CAD automation for precision solar engineering built on Autodesk technology. Electrical design and automated stringing are now available for ground mounts.

Scale is substantial for a company of its age: over 5,000 active users worldwide, more than 500,000 solar projects designed on the platform since 2015, and gigawatts of solar installed. The team is international, with offices in the US and Portugal. A press release on the site announces that Enact Solar and PVComplete are uniting to create what they describe as the industry's first end-to-end AI-enabled solar software platform.

An in-house engineering team also provides services beyond the software, covering project layout, general project design and engineering, and structural and electrical stamping across all US states. PV CAD bundle plans start at $333 per month on annual billing with AutoCAD included, and PVSketch MEGA plans start at $299 per month annually.
