Roadmunk

Roadmunk is roadmapping software for building and communicating product strategy, capturing customer feedback, prioritising what to build next and producing roadmaps intended for executive audiences.

Anyone evaluating it should know that roadmunk.com has migrated to tempo.io, and the product is now sold as Tempo's roadmapping software, described on the vendor's own page as formerly Roadmunk. That is a material fact rather than a footnote: support, billing, the product roadmap itself and any integration commitments now sit with Tempo, a company whose main business is Jira time tracking and portfolio management, and which reports more than 30,000 customers.

The presentation emphasis is what distinguished Roadmunk originally and it remains the pitch. A roadmap built in a generic diagramming tool takes hours and still looks improvised in front of a board, and the effort has to be repeated every time a date moves. Generating multiple views from one dataset means a timeline for executives, a swimlane for delivery teams and a table for detail all update together from a single source.

The idea manager provides a backlog where suggestions accumulate and are promoted onto the roadmap when they are ready, which keeps the roadmap itself uncluttered while giving requesters somewhere their idea visibly goes. Feedback capture links customer input to the features it relates to so stakeholders can find the reasoning behind a priority. Rates for the roadmapping product are not published separately; the pricing pages now reached from the site price Tempo's Jira time tracking, which is a different product.
