What is Blender?
Blender is a free, open source 3D creation application maintained by the Blender Foundation, a nonprofit based in the Netherlands. It covers the full 3D pipeline in one program, including modeling, sculpting, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, animation, simulation, compositing, and video editing. Blender ships with two built-in render engines, the physically based Cycles path tracer and the real-time EEVEE engine, and is released under the GPL license with no paid tiers or licensing fees.
Because it is open source, Blender can be extended through its Python API and a large ecosystem of community add-ons. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and has been used to produce feature films, games, and visual effects, most notably the Academy Award winning animated film Flow, which was made entirely in Blender.
