Instalkr Is Offline: What It Was and Alternatives That Still Work in 2026

Updated October 2026: Instalkr is no longer online. The instalkr.com domain stopped resolving, so the site cannot be reached from any network we tested on 27 October 2026. This guide explains what Instalkr was, what it could and could not do, and which anonymous Instagram viewers still work today.

What was Instalkr?

Instalkr was a free web tool for looking at public Instagram profiles without logging in. You typed a username, and the site showed that account’s public posts, Reels and current Stories, with a button to download each one. It did not need an Instagram account, an app install or a sign-up, which is why it became popular with people who wanted to check a profile without the owner seeing their name in the Story viewer list.

Like every tool of this kind, Instalkr fetched content from Instagram on its own servers and passed it to you. That is what kept you anonymous, and it is also why these sites break so often: when Instagram changes how it serves pages to block scrapers, every third-party viewer stops working until its developer catches up. Some never come back, and Instalkr is one of them.

What Instalkr could and could not do

A lot of older articles, including the first version of this one, credited Instalkr with features no outside tool can have. To be clear about the real limits:

• Public accounts only. No third-party viewer can open a private Instagram account. Sites that claim to are either fake or after your login details.
• No deleted content. Once a post or Story is deleted, or a Story expires after 24 hours, an outside site cannot recover it unless it happened to save a copy earlier.
• No “who viewed my profile” or “who blocked me”. Instagram does not share this data with anyone, so no tool can show it.
• Downloads were for personal viewing. Photos and videos belong to the people who posted them, and reposting them without permission can break Instagram’s rules and copyright law.

Is it safe to use Instagram viewer sites?

Viewing a public profile through a viewer site is low risk as long as you never enter your Instagram username and password, never install an extension or app the site pushes, and close pop-ups that ask for notification permission. Viewer sites are funded by advertising, and some of those ads lead to scams. Treat any site that asks you to “verify” by completing a survey or downloading something as a fake.

Also remember that using these tools goes against Instagram’s terms, which do not allow automated collection of content. That is the reason Instagram keeps blocking them.

Instalkr alternatives that work in 2026

We checked each of the alternatives listed in the original article on 27 October 2026. Two are still running as Instagram viewers and the rest have changed or closed.

Dumpor

Dumpor (dumpor.io) is the most stable of the group. It shows public profiles, posts, Reels, Stories and tagged posts without a login, and it now also handles traffic for the old SmiHub domain, which redirects to it. Read our full Dumpor guide.

Picuki (changed)

Picuki used to be one of the best known Instagram viewers. Its domain now redirects to a TikTok viewer, so it no longer works for Instagram. Our older Picuki article describes how it used to work.

SmiHub (merged into Dumpor)

SmiHub’s address now forwards to Dumpor. If you used SmiHub before, Dumpor is effectively the same service. Our SmiHub article describes the original service.

Iganony (offline)

Iganony no longer resolves, so it joins Instalkr on the list of closed viewers. Be wary of look-alike domains using its name. Our Iganony article describes the original service.

The no-tool option

If you only want to see a public profile’s posts, you do not need a viewer at all. Instagram shows public profiles in a normal web browser, and Instagram itself does not tell the owner who looked at their posts or Reels.
