What is LabWare ELN?

LabWare ELN is the electronic laboratory notebook within LabWare's laboratory automation range, alongside cloud hosted and self hosted LIMS, the ASSURE, GROW and QAQC SaaS products, a mobile application and AI capabilities, serving industries from pharmaceutical and clinical diagnostics to mining, oil and gas and water and environmental testing.

Pairing the notebook with a laboratory information management system is the point, and the division of labour between them is genuine. A LIMS tracks samples through defined tests with known specifications, while a notebook records work that has no predefined method, and most real laboratories do both. When they are separate products from separate vendors, the boundary becomes a manual transcription step.

The industry list is unusually wide for this category and it reveals what the product actually is. A mining assay laboratory, a water testing facility and a forensic laboratory have little in common scientifically, but all run high volumes of repeatable tests under audit, which is the shape LabWare is built around rather than any particular science.

Offering both cloud hosted and self hosted deployment is worth noting because laboratory software is unusually slow to move to hosted delivery, since instruments are physically on site, validated configurations are expensive to disturb and some sectors have data residency rules. Publishing in fourteen languages reflects the same global installed base. Rates are not published.
