Splunk Observability Cloud is built around a claim that distinguishes it from monitoring tools generally: knowing which issues matter most, rather than surfacing everything that is technically wrong. In a large estate the constraint is not detecting problems but ranking them.

The mechanism is correlation across domains. The platform correlates telemetry spanning infrastructure, services and networks so that related symptoms resolve into one underlying cause, then prioritises work based on revenue, risk and customer experience rather than system health alone. That last distinction is the important one, since a degraded component that no customer touches is not the same problem as one sitting in a checkout path.

Pricing is host based and published, which Splunk presents as avoiding billing surprises. Infrastructure monitoring starts at 15 dollars per host per month billed annually. App and Infra starts at 60 dollars per host per month, and End-to-End at 75 dollars per host per month, both billed annually. A vCPU based option starts at 6 dollars per vCPU per month, and Premium Edition starts at 33 dollars per host per month.

A free edition covers up to 15 hosts, which is enough to evaluate the product properly rather than merely view a demonstration.
