What is Shield?

Shield provides electronic communications surveillance and compliance for financial services, organised into Shield Discover for investigations, Shield Surveillance for risk detection and Shield Supervision for monitoring, with a voice offering and the AmplifAI agentic compliance suite.

Separating discovery, surveillance and supervision is the right structure because they are three different regulatory obligations with different users. Surveillance detects potential misconduct across all communications, supervision is the documented process by which managers review their teams, and discovery is the reactive search when a regulator or litigation demands specific records. A single search box serves none of them properly.

Control room surveillance is the specialist capability worth noting, since it addresses information barriers inside investment banks: the walls separating advisory teams holding material non-public information from trading desks that must not receive it. Monitoring communications for breaches of those barriers is a particular discipline that general surveillance tools do not attempt.

Voice as an explicit offering matters because a large share of regulated conversation happens on calls, and text-only surveillance simply cannot see it. AmplifAI is the agentic layer, which in compliance means agents reviewing and triaging alerts, addressing the fundamental problem in this field: surveillance systems generate vastly more alerts than reviewers can examine, so most are closed without meaningful review. Records management and upstream eDiscovery complete the platform. Rates are not published.

They are three regulatory obligations with different users: detecting misconduct, documenting manager review of teams, and reactive search when a regulator or litigation demands records.

Monitoring the information barriers inside investment banks, which separate advisory teams holding material non-public information from trading desks that must not receive it.

A large share of regulated conversation happens on calls, and text-only surveillance cannot see it at all, whatever its coverage of chat and email.

Surveillance systems generate vastly more alerts than reviewers can examine, so most are closed without meaningful review. Agents reviewing and triaging alerts targets that directly.
