Relativity Trace

Relativity Trace is communication surveillance built on Relativity, the eDiscovery and legal data intelligence platform, applying proactive monitoring to the same infrastructure organisations already use for reactive investigation.

Sharing a platform with eDiscovery is the structural advantage and it is genuinely useful rather than incidental. Surveillance and eDiscovery process the same communications with opposite timing: surveillance watches continuously for problems, while eDiscovery searches historically once a problem is known. When surveillance flags something that becomes an investigation, the evidence is already in the system the legal team works in, rather than needing export, re-ingestion and a fresh review workflow.

Relativity's position in legal technology is what makes that matter. The platform is widely used by law firms and corporate legal departments for document review, so a surveillance product built on it inherits the review tooling, the analytics and the workflows that discipline has developed over years, rather than reimplementing them.

The generative AI capability is applied across the same corpus, and in surveillance the value is reducing false positives, since a lexicon-based system flagging every message containing a keyword produces unmanageable alert volume.
