What is Resend?

Resend is an email platform aimed at developers, providing a sending API with official SDKs for Node.js, Ruby, Python, PHP, Go, Rust, Java, Elixir and .NET alongside REST and SMTP access. It handles transactional and marketing mail from the same account, and adds a visual editor so that people who do not write code can compose and format campaigns without touching the codebase.

The developer experience is the explicit positioning and it shows in the details rather than the feature list. A test mode simulates delivered, opened, clicked, bounced and complained events so an integration can be exercised without the risk of sending real mail to real people, which is the failure that makes email integrations uncomfortable to develop against. Modular webhooks then push every state change to a server in real time, so delivery status is something an application reacts to rather than polls for.

The breadth of SDK coverage is what separates it from services that officially support one or two languages and leave the rest to community libraries. A team working in Elixir or Rust gets a maintained client rather than a wrapper of uncertain age and unclear ownership.

Contact management sits alongside the sending engine, with grouping and segmentation, so the same platform serves a product notification and a newsletter to a subscriber list. Add-ons cover extra sending domains and dedicated IP addresses for senders whose volume justifies isolating their own reputation.
