What is ProMealPlan?

ProMealPlan generates personalised meal plans in about five minutes, white-labelled with the practitioner's brand, drawing on more than 1,000 dietitian-crafted recipes, and gives clients an application carrying grocery lists, recipes and meal tracking. The vendor publishes a 4.6 out of 5 Trustpilot rating.

The five minute claim is the whole commercial argument and it is worth taking seriously rather than dismissing as marketing.

Meal planning is the single most time-consuming task in nutrition practice, and it is time that cannot be billed. A properly constructed plan has to hit calorie and macronutrient targets, respect allergies and intolerances, account for what the client will actually cook and eat, and not repeat the same three meals endlessly. Doing that by hand takes an hour or more per client, which means practitioners either restrict how many clients they take or produce generic plans that clients abandon within a fortnight.

White-labelling matters more in this profession than in most. A dietitian's client relationship is personal and built on their own credibility, and handing over a plan branded with somebody else's software undercuts exactly what the client is paying for.

The client application is where adherence is won or lost. A plan delivered as a PDF is read once and forgotten. A plan with a grocery list the client shops from, recipes they cook from and tracking they log against stays part of daily life, and adherence rather than plan quality is what determines whether the client gets a result.

Carb cycling, an AI calorie tracker and a no-repeat-recipes option are published as capabilities, the last of which addresses the specific failure of automated planning: an algorithm optimising purely for macronutrient targets will happily serve the same chicken and rice every day.

Pricing is published with monthly and annual billing. A free tier costs $0 with no credit card required, and Lite is $49 per month falling to $41 on annual billing, at $490 a year.
