Orgvue provides organisational design and workforce planning software, letting companies model their structure, roles, costs and skills, and test changes before making them.

Modelling before acting is the whole value, because organisational change is expensive and difficult to reverse. A restructure affects people's jobs, triggers consultation obligations and costs redundancy money, and discovering after the fact that the new structure has a capability gap or costs more than the old one is a failure that cannot be quietly undone. Building the model first turns an irreversible decision into a testable one.

Connected data is the prerequisite and the reason this is hard. Answering what a function costs, who reports to whom and which skills exist where requires joining the HR system, payroll and often several spreadsheets held by different people, and most organisations cannot produce that view on demand at all.

Workforce planning extends the same data forward, asking what capability will be needed and what the gap is against what exists. That is a different question from headcount budgeting, which asks only how many people can be afforded, and it is the one that determines whether a strategy is deliverable.
