What is Chronosphere?

Chronosphere is an observability platform purpose-built for Kubernetes and containerised environments, ingesting metrics and traces through Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and other open source formats, and a three-time Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Observability Platforms.

The Control Plane is the distinguishing component and it exists because containerised environments generate telemetry in a way traditional monitoring never anticipated. Every pod that starts and stops creates new time series, so a Kubernetes cluster produces cardinality that grows with deployment frequency rather than with traffic, and observability bills grow accordingly. A layer that analyses and refines data to match cost against value is the structural answer, rather than asking engineers to instrument less.

Differential Diagnosis, or DDx, is the capability worth noting for teams under pressure. It offers queryless guided troubleshooting using metrics or traces with no expertise required, which addresses the real constraint during an incident: the person on call at three in the morning is frequently not the person who knows the query language, and the tool being usable by whoever is awake is what determines resolution time.

Reliability is stated concretely at 99.99 percent proven even at tens of millions of data points per second, which is the right way to express an availability claim for a system whose whole purpose is to be working when everything else is not. Chronosphere Lens provides contextual data through the response workflow, service level objectives are managed for dynamic microservice environments, and the company maintains Fluent Bit, the widely used open source telemetry pipeline. Chronosphere FAQs

Rates are not published on the site. Pricing follows a demo request, which is normal for platforms sized on telemetry volume rather than seats.

Every pod that starts and stops creates new time series, so cardinality grows with deployment frequency rather than with traffic, and monitoring designed for stable hosts produces runaway cost.

Analyses and refines telemetry so data cost is matched against value, which is a structural answer to observability spend rather than asking engineers to instrument less.

Queryless guided troubleshooting using metrics or traces with no expertise required, aimed at the reality that whoever is on call at three in the morning may not know the query language.

99.99 percent proven, even at tens of millions of data points per second, which is the relevant figure for a system whose purpose is to work when everything else has failed.
