Care Logistics combines an Operational Model with CareEdge, its digital health platform, to improve hospital efficiency and performance.

The order in which it presents those two is deliberate and unusual. The Operational Model is described as a comprehensive approach to creating or redesigning a hospital's operating system to optimise efficiency, explicitly with or without the addition of new technology. Very few vendors will say that software may not be the answer, and saying it is credible rather than modest: a hospital whose problems are structural will not fix them by installing something, and technology layered on a broken process automates the breakage.

CareEdge supports a Healthcare Operations Center, helping a facility improve coordination, apply analytic intelligence, expand visibility and aggregate information from multiple sources. Aggregation is the practical foundation there, because hospital operational data is scattered across the electronic health record, bed management, theatre scheduling and transport systems, and nobody has a single view without deliberately building one.

An operations centre as a physical and organisational concept, rather than only a dashboard, reflects how larger health systems have come to manage capacity, with a staffed command function making real time decisions across facilities.
