Driving access decisions from device compliance signals is the notable capability, and it connects two things usually managed separately.

Device management traditionally asks whether a device is configured correctly. Access control asks whether a user is permitted. Those run in different systems, which means a device that has fallen out of compliance, missing a security patch, rooted, or running an unapproved application, continues to have exactly the access it had when it was healthy.

Connecting them means access follows the device's current state rather than its state at enrolment. A device that stops meeting policy loses access until it is remediated, which is the behaviour most organisations assume they already have.

For kiosks specifically the value differs from managed employee devices. A kiosk is unattended and physically accessible to the public, which is the least trusted position a device can occupy. It may be tampered with, have cables removed, or be used to reach the network behind it, and none of that generates a support call because nobody owns the device.

Compliance signals give an unattended device a way to report that something has changed, which is the only monitoring it will get.
