What is Vantix?

Vantix provides ticketing systems for attractions covering online ticketing, self-serve kiosks and other sales methods, with built-in reporting, pricing, scheduling and facilities management, published as covering everything from base configuration through day-to-day operations.

Including facilities management alongside ticketing is the unusual combination and it reflects how these venues are actually run.

An attraction is not only a place that sells admission. It operates rooms, spaces, equipment and staff that need scheduling, and much of its revenue comes from things that are booked rather than ticketed: function rooms, education sessions, birthday parties, group visits, venue hire and behind-the-scenes experiences.

Those bookings compete for the same physical resources as general admission. A room booked for a corporate event cannot host a school group, and an education officer scheduled for one session cannot take another. Managing that in a separate system from ticketing means double bookings, and double bookings at an attraction are discovered when two groups arrive.

Pricing as a built-in feature rather than a configuration detail is worth noting, because attraction pricing is genuinely complicated. Rates vary by age band, by concession status, by day of week, by season, by advance purchase, by group size and by member status, and combinations of those apply simultaneously. Software treating price as a fixed attribute of a ticket type cannot express that, and venues end up with dozens of near-duplicate ticket types that make reporting meaningless.

Covering base configuration through daily operations acknowledges that these systems are configured for a specific venue rather than installed, and that the configuration is where most of the implementation effort goes.
