What is SAP Master Data Governance?
SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) is SAP's master data management and governance solution, built to centrally create, validate, and distribute trusted master data such as business partners, customers, suppliers, and products across an enterprise system landscape. It supports central governance with workflow-based change requests, data consolidation and deduplication, mass processing, and configurable data quality validation rules, and it integrates tightly with SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications.
MDG is available on SAP S/4HANA, either on premise or private cloud, and as a cloud edition delivered through SAP Business Data Cloud, where it connects with SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud in a unified data foundation. SAP licenses the cloud edition using usage-based billing measured in blocks of 5,000 data objects, with contract terms from 3 to 36 months and a minimum order of 20 blocks.
