What is WalkMe?

WalkMe is a digital adoption platform that overlays every application an organisation runs, and its current positioning is explicitly about artificial intelligence: giving AI the real-time screen context it lacks, the reach to follow a task across the five applications it touches, and the ability to execute a workflow rather than describe it. IDC has published a study of the benefits enterprises derive from the platform.

The argument being made is sharper than the usual adoption pitch and worth stating plainly. An assistant that cannot see what is on the screen has to be told the situation every time, and one that cannot cross application boundaries stops at the first handoff. An overlay sitting above every application has exactly the context and reach that the assistant does not.

Proving that AI investment works is the second claim and it addresses a real board-level question. Organisations have bought AI licences for every employee and cannot demonstrate the return, and usage data across applications is the evidence that argument needs.

The original value remains underneath all of this. In-application guidance shortens onboarding on complex enterprise software, which is the durable reason these platforms exist regardless of what they are positioned around this year.

In-application guidance that shortens onboarding on complex enterprise software, which is why these platforms existed before AI and will continue to.

No. It overlays them, which is what allows it to cover software the organisation does not control.
