Roundpay is an IT and recharge services provider offering recharge software alongside a wider fintech API platform, covering banking APIs for collection, payouts and cards.

Its Banking Correspondent model is the part with the most substance behind it, stated with the explicit objective of ensuring financial inclusion and increasing the outreach of banking and financial services in rural India. That is a real economic mechanism rather than a mission statement: a village shopkeeper acting as a banking correspondent provides cash withdrawal, deposit and transfer services where no branch exists, and the recharge software and the banking rails are the same infrastructure.

Combining recharge with banking APIs reflects how these businesses actually develop. A retailer starts with mobile top-ups because the barrier is low, then adds bill payment, then money transfer and cash withdrawal as customers come to trust them, and a provider covering the whole progression keeps the retailer rather than losing them at each step.
