That breadth suits the customers named. Associations, foundations and higher education institutions typically run several of these processes simultaneously and separately: a professional association will collect conference abstracts in spring, run an awards program in autumn, administer a scholarship fund year-round and manage accreditation continuously. Each is usually bought as its own product from its own vendor, and consolidating them onto one platform is a defensible reason to prefer a generalist over a specialist.

The stated problem is disparate submission portals, review forms, data collection tools and communications, unified into one application management platform. That description is accurate to how these processes decay in practice, where each program accretes its own spreadsheet, form tool and mailing list until nobody can report across them.

Session builder and scheduling for abstracts is a capability generic awards software does not have. Accepting a conference abstract is only half the work; the accepted abstracts then have to be assembled into sessions across rooms and time slots, which is a scheduling problem rather than a review problem.

Integrations are named specifically: an iMIS bridge requiring no code, a visual field mapper for Salesforce, and Higher Logic Thrive. iMIS and Higher Logic are association management systems, confirming the association market focus.
