NetScout nGeniusONE

nGeniusONE is NetScout's network observability platform, enabling real-time visibility into enterprise network environments to improve performance. It comes in two forms addressing genuinely different markets: nGeniusONE for Enterprise, and nGeniusONE for Carrier, which assures user experience with end-to-end visibility across network domains, service enablers and devices. Carrier networks and enterprise networks have little in common operationally, so serving both with distinct products rather than one configurable platform is a reasonable sign of depth.

InfiniStreamNG underpins it, capturing, storing and analysing packet-level data in real time. Packet-level capture is what distinguishes this class of tool from flow-based or SNMP monitoring: it can answer questions the others cannot, at correspondingly higher cost and infrastructure requirement. NetScout's framing of the resulting dataset is Smart Data.

nGenius Copilot is the newer addition, an extension adding an AI-powered natural language interface for interacting with Smart Data. That is a sensible application, since packet-level datasets are large and querying them has traditionally demanded specialist skill, which limits who in an organisation can actually get answers from an expensive investment.

The use case range is wide: network observability, network and application performance management, AIOps, remote site observability, SaaS application observability, unified communications and UCaaS, colocation performance management, cloud observability and shadow IT discovery. Cybersecurity is treated as a first-class area rather than an add-on, spanning threat investigation and hunting, ransomware resilience, zero trust enablement, and DDoS protection for both enterprises and service providers. Carrier-specific coverage includes 5G service assurance, network slicing, fixed wireless access and RAN performance. The vendor states 82 percent of enterprises have visibility gaps.
