L7 Informatics positions L7|ESP as an execution layer and operating system for regulated life sciences rather than as another point application. The distinction is deliberate: most labs run a LIMS, an electronic lab notebook, a manufacturing execution system and a scheduling tool from different vendors, then spend years integrating them. L7|ESP supplies all four as apps on one platform, so the process definition and the data model are shared instead of stitched together after purchase.

The platform components each handle a layer of that. L7|HUB, L7|INTELLIGENCE, L7|MASTER, L7|SYNAPSE and L7|EXCHANGE cover data hosting, analytics, master data, connectivity and exchange between systems. On top sit the business apps: L7 LIMS, L7 MES, L7 Notebooks and L7 Scheduling, alongside a set of standard apps. Rather than leaving customers to assemble these, L7 sells app packages built for defined operating contexts, including research, process and analytical development, manufacturing with QC and QA, clinical diagnostics, cell therapy and CMC work.

The industries addressed are specific enough to judge fit against. Pharmaceutical work covers small molecule medicine and advanced therapeutics, biotech covers advanced therapeutics, diagnostics covers molecular and companion diagnostics, and CDMOs are addressed for small and large molecule medicine. Academic research, cancer centres and cell and gene therapy labs, biomedical research institutions, contract research organisations running clinical trials, agricultural biotechnology working on new seeds and plant breeds, and life science tools vendors are all named. Ontology is a stated foundation for connected decision-making and AI-readiness.
