The complexity claim is the honest part of the positioning. Jive was designed for organisations with many divisions, geographies and business lines, where the practical problem is that expertise exists somewhere in the company and nobody can locate it. That is a different problem from a small company wanting a discussion tool.

Cutting through silos is what the platform sells and it is genuinely hard. Silos exist because they are efficient locally, and software that surfaces content across them is fighting an organisational preference rather than a technical limitation, which is why deployments in this category succeed or fail on sponsorship rather than features.
