Corero provides real-time DDoS protection aimed at maintaining uptime and compliance, and publishes analysis of its own attack data covering threats it argues most defences still miss. It has been named a Leader and Emerging Innovator in DDoS mitigation by an industry evaluation.

Real-time is the qualifier that determines whether DDoS protection works. Many attacks last minutes rather than hours, so a defence that detects an attack, routes traffic to a scrubbing centre and returns it has often finished responding after the attack ended and the damage occurred.

Publishing attack data is a credible way to argue in this market. Claims about what other defences miss are unfalsifiable unless the vendor shows the traffic, and describing the shape of attacks that pass through conventional mitigation is a stronger argument than a capability claim.

Uptime and compliance being named together reflects who buys this. For a service provider or a regulated business, availability is contractual rather than aspirational, and a sustained outage carries penalties that make the protection cost straightforward to justify. The business case writes itself once an outage has a contractual price attached to it.
