What is Bravo Store Systems?

Bravo Store Systems runs a pawn shop from a single system covering loans, buys, trades, compliance, inventory, payments and ecommerce, serving pawnbrokers, federal firearms licence dealers, shooting ranges, jewellers and consignment shops. The vendor reports over 3,000 stores and a 5.0 rating across 94 SourceForge reviews.

The combination of pawn lending and firearms compliance in one product reflects how these businesses actually operate rather than how software categories are drawn. A great many pawn shops hold a federal firearms licence, which brings ATF obligations that are entirely separate from pawn regulation: a bound book recording every firearm acquisition and disposition, background check documentation, and record retention that an ATF inspector will examine directly. A shop running pawn software plus separate firearms record-keeping maintains two sets of records about the same transactions, and the inspection risk sits in the gap between them.

Loans, buys and trades being handled as distinct transaction types matters equally. A pawn loan is a collateralised advance with a redemption period and statutory interest limits; a buy is an outright purchase; a trade is neither. Retail point of sale software treats all three as sales and produces records that do not satisfy either lending regulation or police reporting requirements.

Ecommerce is included in the same system, which addresses the practical problem that forfeited collateral has to be sold, and the local market for a specific item is often too small.

Bravo has consolidated several competing products, with PawnMaster and CompuPawn customers now migrating onto it, and the vendor publishes free setup and conversion with over 1,000 migrations completed.

Pricing starts at $99 per month.
