Picuki: Does It Still Work, and Is It Safe?

Picuki: Does It Still Work, and Is It Safe?

Picuki no longer works as an Instagram viewer. When we tested it on 24 September 2026, picuki.com showed no Instagram content at all: it forwarded every visit, including old links to Picuki profile pages, to tikvib.com, a different site registered in July 2025. Sites that now use the Picuki name on other domains are copies, not the original service.

Below is what we found, how we tested it, what the copies are, and what you can do instead, whether you want to look at a public profile or you are worried about who is looking at yours.

The short answer

  • Does Picuki still work? No. picuki.com forwards to tikvib.com and shows no Instagram content.
  • Is picuki.site or picuki.net the real Picuki? No. Both were registered years after picuki.com (in November 2023 and December 2025), and neither shows any link to it.
  • Can any site show a private Instagram account? No. Viewer sites can only reach public accounts, and the ones we tested say so themselves.
  • Can you watch someone’s Instagram story without them knowing? Not through Instagram, which shows the owner everyone who watched and has no setting to hide you. Viewer sites get around this by collecting stories without logging in, which Instagram’s terms forbid.

How we tested

We checked picuki.com twice on 24 September 2026. First from a server, recording where the address led, its security certificate and the domain’s public registration record. Then in a separate browser with no Instagram account signed in, recording where the page went and what it loaded. We did not download anything, allow notifications or get past any security check. The same day we ran the same checks on six similar Instagram and YouTube tools and on the other domains that use the Picuki name. Our editorial policy explains how pages like this one are made and corrected.

What happens when you open picuki.com

  • At 07:25 UTC the address returned Cloudflare error 522, which means the server behind the domain did not answer.
  • Fifteen minutes later it forwarded visitors to www.tikvib.com. Old profile links forwarded too: picuki.com/profile/natgeo went to tikvib.com/profile/natgeo.
  • tikvib.com opened on a Cloudflare security check that did not clear in our browser, so we could not see the site behind it. Reports from other sites describe it as a TikTok viewer.

The public registration record shows picuki.com was registered in November 2019 and is paid up to November 2026. Several blogs report that Picuki dropped its Instagram features in early 2025. Its operators have not said so publicly, and the forwarding to Tikvib is the only change we could confirm ourselves.

The sites now using the Picuki name

What we found at each address on 24 September 2026:

  • picuki.com (registered November 2019): forwards to tikvib.com and shows no Instagram content.
  • picuki.site (registered November 2023): online, presenting itself as an Instagram viewer under the Picuki name.
  • picuki.net (registered December 2025): online, presenting itself as an Instagram viewer under the Picuki name.
  • picuki.cc (registered October 2025): forwards to an unrelated company’s website.
  • picuki.io (registered October 2022), picuki.me (registered November 2025) and picuki.ws: did not load, with a redirect loop, a certificate error and a time-out.

We did not test these copies in depth. On similar viewer sites the same day, we found:

  • a push-notification service worker that loads its code from a third-party domain, so clicking Allow would let that party send notifications to your desktop after you leave (Insacret);
  • requests to 21 outside servers from at least eight advertising and tracking companies, including Google, Criteo, OpenX and Yahoo (Imginn);
  • a banner promising “zero tracking” on a page that loads Yandex Metrica and Google Analytics (Dumpor).

Why Instagram viewers keep disappearing

Every site in this category collects Instagram content without Instagram’s permission. Instagram’s Terms of Use say: “You can’t attempt to create accounts or access or collect information in unauthorized ways. This includes creating accounts or accessing or collecting information in an automated way without our express permission.”

Instagram also goes after the domains. In December 2020 it won 15 viewer domains, including my-instastalker.com and theinsta-stalker.com, through the World Intellectual Property Organization’s domain dispute process (case D2020-2826). In August 2021 it won igdig.com, where the panel noted that earlier panels had held that “unauthorized automated accessing and downloading of content from social networks amounts to bad faith” (case D2021-1990). The registration record for iganony.com, once a popular viewer, now lists Meta Platforms, Instagram’s owner, as the registrant.

That is why a viewer that works today can vanish without notice, and why its old address can end up pointing somewhere else, as Picuki’s has.

If you use a viewer anyway

  • Never enter your Instagram password. None of the sites we tested asked for one, and a viewer has no reason to.
  • Say no to notification prompts. If you already said yes, remove the permission: in Chrome, open Settings, then Privacy and security, then Site settings, then Notifications.
  • Do not install an app or browser extension that a viewer site offers.
  • Expect it to change. Of the seven Instagram and YouTube tools we checked, four no longer worked at their original address.

Seeing public Instagram content without a viewer site

Instagram shows public profiles to people without an account. When we opened instagram.com/natgeo without logging in, the page showed the account’s follower count, bio and latest posts under a sign-up prompt. Stories are different: they need an account, and the owner can see who watched.

If you are worried about who is viewing your account

  • Viewer sites can only reach public accounts, so making your account private stops them. In the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap the menu in the top right, then tap Account privacy under Who can see your content and turn on Private account (Instagram’s steps). Business profiles have to switch back to a personal account first.
  • Imginn, one of the viewers that still works, has a removal request page at imginn.com/remove/. We have not tested whether requests are acted on.

Frequently asked questions

Is Picuki down?

Yes. On 24 September 2026, picuki.com showed no Instagram content and forwarded every visit to tikvib.com.

What replaced Picuki?

The picuki.com address now forwards to tikvib.com, a domain registered in July 2025. Sites called Picuki on other domains are copies registered years after the original, with no visible link to it.

Can Picuki or any other viewer show a private Instagram account?

No. Viewer sites can only reach public accounts, and the ones we tested say so themselves. Only approved followers can see a private account.

The sites work against Instagram’s Terms of Use, which forbid collecting information in an automated way without permission, and Instagram has taken over viewer domains through formal disputes. Downloading and reposting someone else’s photos or videos can also infringe their copyright. This is general information, not legal advice.

We will re-test this page when Picuki’s status changes. If you see something different, tell us through the contact form.
