Publishing an interactive demo rather than requiring a sales call is a small decision that says something about the buyer this targets.

Enterprise FP&A is sold through a process: discovery call, scoped demonstration, proof of concept, proposal. That suits a large organisation with a formal selection project and suits a finance lead at a growing company badly, because they are evaluating in the gaps between month end and everything else, and cannot commit to four meetings before knowing whether the product is plausible.

An interactive demo lets that person establish fit at eleven at night, which is realistically when they are looking.

The time framing is the right one for this market segment. A finance team of two or three at a company of a few hundred people is not asking for better analytics; it is asking to stop spending the first fortnight of every month assembling a reporting pack. The purchase is justified by hours rather than by insight, and vendors who understand that describe the product accordingly.

The consideration when buying at this stage is growth. A company at fifty employees choosing a platform will be at two hundred within a few years if things go well, and the question is whether the model built now survives that or must be rebuilt, since rebuilding a planning model while the business is scaling is precisely when nobody has time for it.
