Aravenda is consignment software for resale businesses, built around a centralised inventory platform that connects to Shopify POS and ecommerce, so the same consigned item is managed in store and online from one record.

Building on Shopify rather than against it is the defining architectural decision, and it is a sound one for this trade. Resale businesses need a real online storefront because their inventory is one-of-a-kind: a consigned item that does not sell locally has no second local buyer, and reaching a national market is what turns unsold stock into revenue. Shopify already solves storefronts, payments and shipping better than a vertical software vendor will, so integrating rather than rebuilding leaves Aravenda to solve the consignment-specific problems.

Those problems are real. Consignment inventory is not owned by the shop, so each item carries a consignor, a split, a price reduction schedule and an eventual return or donation date, and the shop owes money on every sale. That accounting is what general retail software cannot do.

AI item entry is the capability the vendor emphasises most, and it addresses the genuine bottleneck. A resale shop must photograph, describe, categorise and price every individual item, because nothing arrives with a catalogue entry. That per-item labour determines how much stock a shop can take in, which determines its revenue, so automating item entry raises the ceiling on the whole business.
