What is DaVinci Resolve?
DaVinci Resolve is video editing, color grading, visual effects, and audio post production software from Blackmagic Design. It combines an editing page, the Fusion VFX and motion graphics page, Fairlight audio mixing, and a dedicated color page in one application. The free version includes nearly all core tools with no watermark or time limit, supporting resolutions up to Ultra HD at 60fps. The 2026 release, DaVinci Resolve 21, added a Photo page for still image editing, AI tools such as IntelliSearch and CineFocus, and over 100 new motion graphic effects.
DaVinci Resolve Studio is a one time $295 purchase that unlocks the DaVinci Neural Engine, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ grading, noise reduction, multi GPU acceleration, resolutions above 4K, and remote collaboration through Blackmagic Cloud. It is used by colorists, editors, and post production studios on projects ranging from online videos to feature films.
