Found provides business banking for self-employed people with financial tools built into the account: sub-accounts it calls Pockets for cash management, online business checking, contractor payments with W-9 collection and 1099 filing, and unlimited invoicing.

Putting tax tools inside the bank account is the structural idea and it is a good one. A freelancer's core problem is that income arrives gross and a portion of it belongs to the tax authority, and separating that money as it arrives is far more reliable than finding it later. Sub-accounts make that automatic rather than a matter of discipline.

Contractor payments with W-9 collection and 1099 filing address the point where a self-employed person becomes an employer of others, which is where the administrative burden jumps sharply and where people most often fall out of compliance without realising it.

Pricing is published with a free plan at zero a month and a paid plan at thirty five dollars a month or three hundred and fifteen dollars a year, the annual option saving roughly a quarter. The vendor notes the paid plan can be cancelled at any time while keeping the free Found plan, which lowers the risk of trying the upgrade considerably. For a sole trader deciding whether the interest on balances and the additional tools justify the monthly fee, being able to test that and fall back without closing the account is the practical difference.
