Matecat

Matecat is a free and open source online computer assisted translation tool, free for translation companies, individual translators and enterprise users alike.

Its three stated benefits are unusually concrete. Increased profits come from reducing the billable word count through the best matches drawn from translation memories and machine translation, which is how a translator earns more per hour without charging more per word. Improved security comes from not sharing files by email, avoiding privacy violations from viruses or carelessness, which is a real professional exposure when translating confidential documents.

The third benefit is the genuinely distinctive one: an extended network of professional translators. Matecat lets a translator take on assignments they cannot personally manage and outsource them from within the platform.
