Loadsmart

Loadsmart is a logistics platform rather than a load board, and understanding that distinction matters before evaluating it here. It describes itself as the autonomous transportation execution platform, combining an AI-native transportation management system with dock scheduling, gate and yard management on one connected platform. Where a load board matches a carrier to a load, Loadsmart is aimed at shippers planning, procuring and executing freight across their whole operation.

The platform has three parts. Loadsmart AI is the autonomous execution layer. The transportation management system covers planning, procurement and execution of freight. Dock, Gate and Yard handles scheduling, tracking and performance measurement for every dock appointment, and the vendor describes this as the industry's leading dock scheduling network. That last component is the genuinely differentiating one: detention and dwell time at the dock is a major cost that a TMS alone does not address, because the problem occurs after the truck arrives.

Alongside the software sits a set of freight services, which is where carriers encounter the company. Freight brokerage provides instant pricing, booking and guaranteed capacity across full truckload, less than truckload, partial truckload, expedited, drayage and multimodal. Managed transportation adds consulting, end-to-end freight planning, procurement and execution as a service for shippers who would rather not run it themselves. A flatbed messenger service provides access to premium capacity from top performing carriers, and expedited shipping covers time-critical freight. A Loadsmart API supports integration with existing systems. Pricing is not published, which is consistent with a platform sold to shippers on scoped terms rather than as a per-seat subscription.
