What is VideoPsalm?

VideoPsalm is free worship presentation software for displaying song lyrics, chords and Bible verses. It provides access to more than 3,000 Bible translations in over 2,000 languages, including more than 70 in English, and a full text song search that works across title, lyrics, author and any other song data, ignoring punctuation and hyphenation.

The breadth of Bible translation coverage is the standout capability and it serves a specific need well. A congregation worshipping in a language other than English, or one wanting a particular translation for doctrinal reasons, is poorly served by products carrying a handful of major English versions. Selecting from thousands with a single click is a genuine advantage for multilingual and international churches.

Song search that ignores punctuation and hyphens sounds trivial and is not. Song titles and lyrics are entered inconsistently by whoever added them, apostrophes and dashes vary, and a search that requires an exact match fails at the moment somebody is looking for a song mid service.

The vendor positions it against PowerPoint rather than against the paid worship products, which places it accurately: the alternative for most of its users is a general presentation tool.
