HCL BigFix is an endpoint management platform covering secure endpoint management, continuous compliance monitoring through BigFix Compliance, automated remediation through BigFix Remediate and exposure analysis through BigFix CyberFOCUS, positioned around AI-powered management of AI-era threats.

Splitting compliance and remediation into named products reflects that they are genuinely different disciplines with different owners. Compliance is a continuous reporting obligation answering whether the estate meets a standard, usually owned by risk or audit, while remediation is the operational work of fixing what compliance found, owned by IT operations. Organisations that treat them as one function typically produce good reports and fix nothing.

CyberFOCUS is the more interesting addition, framed around supercharging IT operations to secure the enterprise, and the framing matters. Security teams identify exposure and operations teams close it, and the gap between them is where vulnerabilities age. A product aimed explicitly at the operations side of that handover is targeting the actual bottleneck rather than adding another scanner.

BigFix's long-standing strength is breadth of endpoint coverage across operating systems and estates that include machines other tools do not reach, which is why it persists in large heterogeneous environments.
