What is Matomo?

Matomo is an open source web analytics platform positioned as a privacy focused alternative to Google Analytics, giving organizations full ownership of their visitor data. It offers more than 30 built in reports covering visitors, actions, referrers, goals, and ecommerce, along with real time visit tracking, visitor profiles, heatmaps, session recordings, funnels, and A/B testing. Matomo can be self hosted on a company's own infrastructure, keeping all data in house, or run as Matomo Cloud, a managed hosting option with automatic updates and backups.

Matomo On-Premise starts with a free, unlimited Community edition and paid Team, Business, Enterprise, and VIP bundles that add heatmaps, A/B testing, and SSO from around 275 euros a month. Matomo Cloud starts at $29 a month for 50,000 hits, with higher volume Business and Enterprise cloud tiers priced on request and a free trial requiring no credit card.
