Ziteboard

Ziteboard is a lightweight online whiteboard that works on any device, and its lightness is a deliberate design position rather than a limitation. It is optimised for Safari on iPad and Chrome on laptops, and works across laptops, tablets and mobile devices without installation.

Online tutoring is the primary use case, and it is designed for it specifically rather than adapted from a business tool. Ziteboard states that its service is designed for successful realtime tutoring, and explains the reasoning: a clean, easy-to-use interface serves both teachers and students of all ages. In a tutoring session, interface complexity costs teaching time directly, so a tool a child can use without instruction is worth more than one with a larger feature list.

The canvas is infinite, providing unlimited space to work through problems with a student or a whole class in real time. Real-time collaboration works across the world and across mixed devices, so a tutor on a laptop and a student on an iPad share the same board without either being disadvantaged.

Beyond education, Ziteboard supports designing workflows, wireframes and prototypes, using the same infinite workspace to see the whole picture at once.
