AI 3D Model Generator Price: What One Model Costs

AI 3D Model Generator Price: What One Model Costs

AI 3D generators sell credits, and credits are not models.

Each tool turns a different number of credits into a model, and some skip credits for a flat monthly fee. So a plan’s price tells you little about what one model costs.

On 30 September 2026 we opened the pricing pages of four AI 3D tools and saved them. Then we divided each price by the models it buys.

One model cost between 5 and 50 cents. A flat fee started to win at 30 to 150 models a month, depending on the rate.

Key Takeaways

  • AI 3D models cost about 5 to 50 cents each across four vendors, depending on the plan.
  • Larger credit packs cut the cost of one model by a third on the tool that sells them.
  • A $15 flat plan costs less than per-model pricing past 30 to 150 models a month.
  • Free plans differ on license: public and non-commercial, personal use only, or commercial with attribution.
  • Retries use credits on most tools, which is where real bills run above the headline rate.

How We Priced a Model

Every figure below comes from the vendor’s own pricing page, linked beside it, as it read on 30 September 2026.

Where a page states the model count of a plan, we divided the plan’s price by that count. Where it sells credits and lists what each generation costs, we multiplied. Prices are US dollars before tax.

The model counts are the vendors’ own estimates. Quality, detail and the number of attempts you need all vary by tool, so this compares price, not results.

What a Single Model Costs

These are the plans and packs that state a model count or a credit cost, cheapest per model first.

Tool and planPriceModels it buysPer model
Tripo Max$90 a month, billed yearlyabout 1,660about $0.05
Tripo Pro$20 a month, billed yearlyabout 200about $0.10
Rodin Business, yearly$96 a monthabout 416about $0.23
3D AI Studio, 35,000-credit pack$399 once1,750 at 20 creditsabout $0.23
3D AI Studio, 5,000-credit pack$69 once250 at 20 creditsabout $0.28
Rodin Business, monthly$120 a monthabout 416about $0.29
3D AI Studio, 2,000-credit pack$34 once100 at 20 creditsabout $0.34
Rodin Creator, yearly$24 a monthabout 60about $0.40
Rodin Creator, monthly$30 a monthabout 60about $0.50

Tripo lists Pro and Max as monthly prices billed annually, at $240 and $1,080 a year. 3D AI Studio’s rows use its image-to-3D cost of 20 credits per generation.

Tripo’s Page Gives a Higher Figure

One vendor’s stated price per model doesn’t match its own plans.

Tripo‘s page says Pro costs $0.16 per model and Max costs $0.09. Dividing each plan’s price by the model count beside it gives about $0.10 and $0.05.

We can’t tell from the page which is right, since a model may cost more than the count assumes at higher quality settings. The table shows our division. Budget for the vendor’s higher figure until you’ve run a month of your own work.

Flat Rate or Per Model

One of the four tools doesn’t meter models at all.

Sloyd Plus costs $15 a month, or $12.50 billed yearly, and includes unlimited text and image to 3D generations. Its page adds that fair-use limits and queue priority still apply.

That makes the comparison a break-even. Dividing $15 by each per-model rate shows where a flat fee starts to win.

  • Against Rodin Creator’s monthly rate of about $0.50, a flat fee wins past 30 models a month.
  • Against 3D AI Studio’s smallest pack at about $0.34, it wins past 44 models a month.
  • Against Tripo Pro at about $0.10, it wins only past 150 models a month.

Below those volumes, per-model pricing is cheaper. Above them, the flat fee stays at $15 while the metered bills keep climbing.

Retries Quietly Raise the Bill

Nobody gets the model they want on the first attempt every time.

On a metered tool, each retry spends credits again, so ten attempts at one good model cost ten models. Meshy lists 2 free retries for each task on its Starter plan, which is the kind of detail worth finding before you pay.

Multiply your expected attempts by the per-model rate. At three attempts per finished model, the 10-cent rate above becomes 30 cents, and a flat fee looks better sooner.

Free Plans Differ on License

Free plans exist, and each one restricts what you can do with the result.

  • Tripo‘s free plan gives 200 credits, about 13 models, as public non-commercial models.
  • Sloyd‘s guest plan allows 1 generation a day under a personal-use license.
  • Meshy‘s free plan gives 100 credits a month under a license allowing commercial use with attribution.

A public, non-commercial model is fine for learning and unusable for a client. Check the license before you build anything on a free plan.

Credits Differ by Task

A model is rarely the only thing you’ll pay for.

3D AI Studio lists what each task costs. Text to 3D and image to 3D cost 20 credits each, while refining a model costs 5, rigging 20 and animation 15.

Retexturing, remeshing and level-of-detail generation are free.

A model that’s generated, rigged and animated costs 55 credits, nearly three times the bare generation. Price the whole pipeline if you need a character that moves.

Meshy Priced in Rupees

Meshy is the AI 3D generator in this site’s AI category, and its page showed rupees at our location, with a new-user offer on top.

Its Pro plan listed ₹1,699 a month for 1,000 credits, which the page says covers up to 100 assets. That’s 10 credits per asset, or about ₹17 per asset. We haven’t converted it, because the exchange rate and the offer would both change the answer.

If the Model Is Headed for a Printer

A generated model still has to survive slicing.

Wall thickness, holes and scale all need checking before printing, and our guide to 3D printing software explains which tool does what at each stage.

Questions to Ask Before Paying

  • Ask the number of models the plan buys, and what a retry costs.
  • Ask whether credits expire at the end of the month.
  • Ask what the license allows on the plan you’ll use.
  • Ask what rigging, animation and texturing cost on top.
  • Ask whether a flat plan has fair-use limits.

Comparing 3D Tools

Once you know your volume and your license needs, comparing the tools themselves gets easier.

The 3D modeling software category lists AI generators like Meshy and Luma alongside traditional modeling tools, so you can weigh quality and workflow against the prices above.

Questions People Ask About AI 3D Model Generator Price

How much does an AI 3D model cost?

On the four vendors checked in September 2026, one model cost about 5 to 50 cents, depending on the plan and how you buy credits. A flat-rate plan costs nothing extra per model.

Is there a free AI 3D model generator?

Yes, but each free plan has a limit. Tripo’s free models are public and non-commercial, and Sloyd’s guest plan allows one generation a day under a personal-use license.

Are AI 3D models free to use commercially?

It depends on the plan. Meshy’s free plan allows commercial use with attribution, while Tripo reserves commercial use for paid plans.

Do failed or retried generations cost credits?

Usually they do. Meshy lists 2 free retries per task on its Starter plan, so check what your plan includes before you start iterating.

Does unlimited AI 3D generation have a cap?

Not entirely. Sloyd sells unlimited generations on its paid plans, and its pricing page says fair-use limits and queue priority still apply.

Price the Model You’ll Keep

The headline rate assumes every generation is the one you wanted.

Estimate your finished models a month, multiply by your attempts, and price the extras. On the four tools checked here, that arithmetic decided whether a flat fee or a credit pack was cheaper more often than the vendor did.
