Salesforce Agentforce

Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent platform, adding agents to an existing Salesforce deployment across sales, service, marketing and development. It includes Agentforce Voice, developer tools, an AgentExchange marketplace and a published return on investment calculator, and is available for Enterprise Edition and above.

Charging by consumed credits rather than per user is the structural decision and it is the honest one for this kind of software. An agent's cost tracks the work it does, not how many employees are nearby, so a seat licence would either overcharge a company using agents lightly or hand unlimited consumption to one using them heavily. Flex Credits at a published rate per hundred thousand make the marginal cost of an agent action visible before deployment.

Requiring Enterprise Edition tells a buyer what this really is. It is not a standalone agent platform to be evaluated against others, it is an extension of a Salesforce investment, and the comparison a customer is actually making is against not adding agents at all.

AgentExchange follows the pattern Salesforce established with AppExchange, letting partners distribute agents rather than every customer building from scratch.
