GoodSync

GoodSync is file synchronisation and backup software licensed per workstation or server with a published annual price. It covers synchronisation between local folders, external drives, network locations and a wide range of cloud and remote protocols, with separate personal and business editions.

Publishing a per workstation annual rate is worth noting in a category where most business tooling is quoted. A small business can read the price, multiply by its machine count and decide, without a sales conversation. That accessibility is a large part of the product's appeal to organisations too small to run a procurement process.

Breadth of destination support is the technical strength. Syncing to an external drive, an SFTP server, a network share and a cloud provider from one tool means a backup strategy can use whatever targets an organisation already has rather than being shaped around one vendor's storage.

Combining backup with synchronisation in one product is sensible because they are the same mechanism with different intent: backup is a one way copy retained over time, sync keeps two locations matching. Handling both means one tool and one schedule rather than two. A free trial is offered before purchase.
