What is ALICE Technologies?

ALICE Technologies applies artificial intelligence to construction project planning and scheduling, generating and optimising construction schedules from an existing Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project programme, or directly from a BIM model.

Generative scheduling is the core idea and it inverts how construction planning normally works. A planner conventionally builds one schedule reflecting one assumed construction method, and if that method proves wrong the schedule is rebuilt by hand. ALICE instead explores many possible sequences and resource allocations for the same project, so the question becomes which of thousands of viable approaches is fastest or cheapest rather than whether the single drafted plan is achievable. For a project where a two-week saving is worth a substantial sum, searching that space systematically is a different exercise from a planner's judgment alone.

The two ALICE Technologies entry points reflect how differently teams work. Starting from P6 or Microsoft Project meets planners where they already are, without abandoning an existing programme. Starting from the BIM model suits teams whose design is further ahead than their schedule.

ALICE Technologies features cover project performance, portfolio performance, targeted optimisation, schedule insights, a schedule insights agent, schedule quality assessment and generative scheduling. Schedule quality is a meaningful inclusion, since a programme full of constraint errors and open-ended activities cannot be optimised until it is sound. Stakeholder views serve general contractors, owners and consultants, across industrial, infrastructure and commercial project types, with regional instances for the US, UK and EU, and Australia. Pricing is not published; the pricing page is a qualification form asking project size and role.

Rates are not published. The pricing page is a qualification form asking for role and project size band, with a quote following. It is not a price list.

Exploring many possible construction sequences and resource allocations for the same project rather than drafting one, so the question becomes which of thousands of viable approaches is fastest or cheapest.

No. ALICE optimises starting from an existing Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project programme, or alternatively directly from a BIM model if the design is further ahead than the schedule.

Checking a programme for constraint errors and open-ended activities, which matters because a structurally unsound schedule cannot be meaningfully optimised until it is corrected.
