What is Freightos?

Freightos operates across three connected products: Freightos Marketplace where importers and exporters book freight, Freightos Terminal providing rate data, and Freightos for Forwarders supplying software to the forwarders themselves.

Occupying all three positions simultaneously is unusual and commercially significant. Freightos is a marketplace competing with forwarders for the shipper's booking, a data provider selling rate intelligence to everyone including those forwarders, and a software vendor selling those same forwarders the tools to compete.

That is worth understanding before evaluating any one piece. A forwarder buying Freightos software is buying from a company whose marketplace also sells directly to their customers. Whether that matters depends on your view of where the industry is heading: if freight booking is moving toward marketplaces regardless, being on the platform is better than being outside it.

Freightos Terminal is the most broadly interesting piece. Ocean and air freight rates are notoriously opaque, moving substantially week to week, and historically a shipper could not tell whether a quoted rate was competitive without collecting several quotes. Published rate data changes the negotiating position, and it changes it in the shipper's favour.

Freightos Enterprise is published as a unified suite for global freight visibility and sourcing, aimed at larger importers managing freight as a procurement category rather than a transaction.

Multi-language availability spans English, Spanish, German, French, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese and Chinese, appropriate for a business whose customers are on both ends of every shipment.

Pricing is not published as plan figures.

Freightos FAQs

No plan figures are published across the products. Marketplace booking, rate data subscriptions and forwarder software are commercially separate, so each is quoted differently.

Because a forwarder buying Freightos software is buying from a company whose marketplace also sells directly to their customers. That is a real consideration rather than a theoretical one.

It depends on your view of the industry. If freight booking is moving toward marketplaces regardless, being on the platform beats being outside it, but the tension is worth acknowledging explicitly.

Ocean and air rates are notoriously opaque and move substantially week to week. Published rate data means a shipper can tell whether a quote is competitive without collecting several, which shifts negotiating power.

Larger importers managing freight as a procurement category rather than a series of transactions, needing visibility and sourcing across many shipments rather than booking individual ones.
