UiPath Studio

UiPath Studio is the building environment in UiPath's automation platform, and its defining choice is that it does not force one style of development. A team can work low-code on a visual canvas, code-first for developers who would rather write it, AI-assisted where the tool drafts the work, or mix all three inside the same project. That matters in practice because automation programmes usually involve both business analysts and engineers, and tools that pick one audience end up excluding the other.

What gets built spans four kinds of work. RPA workflows drive existing user interfaces where no API exists, API workflows integrate systems directly, AI agents handle the decisions that fixed rules cannot, and agentic processes connect all three so agents, robots and people participate in the same flow. The vendor's framing for that combination is that agents think, robots do and people lead, which is a reasonable summary of where each belongs.

The part that separates it from a prototyping tool is the delivery tooling around it, which the vendor describes as production-ready by default. Source control integration keeps automations versioned like software. Testing and quality tooling covers them before release, and CI/CD pipelines deploy them. Reusable libraries stop the same logic being rebuilt across projects, governance and operations controls cover who can do what, and environment management separates development from production. Studio Desktop is one way in, with a second entry point into the same ecosystem.
