What is Zappar?

Zappar provides extended reality tooling and services, comprising Zapworks Designer for no code 3D web experiences, Mattercraft for building rich 3D web experiences with or without code, Universal AR SDKs for Three.js, Unity, PlayCanvas, Babylon.js and JavaScript, Zapworks Spaces for indoor navigation, Studio Z as a creative services team, and Zapvision for accessible QR codes.

Offering tools and a creative studio together is the commercial shape here and it reflects how AR campaigns actually get made. Most brands commissioning an AR activation do not have a 3D team, so the choice is not between two pieces of software but between hiring an agency and licensing a platform, and Zappar sells both sides of that decision through Studio Z.

The tool range is stratified by who is holding it. Designer is no code for marketers, Mattercraft is a 3D editor for people who can work with or without code, and Universal AR is a set of SDKs for developers who already have a rendering stack and want tracking under it. That is a more honest structure than a single tool claiming to serve all three.

Zapvision is the most unusual thing in the portfolio and the least commercial. It is an accessible QR code for product packaging serving blind and low vision users, letting on pack information be read aloud, which solves a real and largely unaddressed problem rather than a marketing one. Zappar states it has worked in immersive technology since 2011. Rates are not published.
