What is WebAbility?

WebAbility provides ADA and WCAG accessibility compliance across three distinct service levels, Automated, Self-Managed and Managed, alongside a substantial set of free public tools and a separately priced PDF remediation service.

Separating the three service levels explicitly rather than bundling them into feature tiers is genuinely useful, because they represent different amounts of work done by different people. Automated applies fixes without human involvement. Self-Managed gives the customer the tooling and expects them to act on findings. Managed has WebAbility do the work. Most vendors blur that distinction, leaving buyers to discover after purchase that compliance still requires their own staff time.

PDF remediation being priced separately at around 49 dollars a month is a candid signal that it is real work rather than an included checkbox. WebAbility puts the point plainly: documents have to be accessible too, and an untagged PDF is unreadable to a screen reader. Remediated documents are machine-validated with veraPDF, an open source PDF conformance checker, which is a verifiable standard rather than a vendor assertion.

The free tools are an unusually broad set and function as a genuine entry point: an ADA Title II checker, a website accessibility scanner, an accessibility cost calculator, a tools comparison, colour contrast checkers including an AI version, an AI alt text generator and an accessibility statement generator. An accessibility cost calculator is a notably confident thing to publish, since it invites a buyer to model the spend before talking to anyone. Automated fixes start at 12 dollars a month.
